Samsung has launched the Galaxy S4 smartphone at a lavish Broadway-themed event in New York City. The Galaxy S4 follows on from last year’s S3 that sold over 40 million units worldwide. The Galaxy S4 allows users to control its screen using only their eyes. Samsung plans to roll out the Galaxy S4 worldwide at the end of April.
Samsung has reported that 327 mobile operators in 155 countries will carry the Galaxy S4 handset. The handset will be available in two colors, white and black. Users can use the ‘smart pause’ feature that can pause a video by looking away from the screen. The phone’s ‘Smart Scroll’ software analyzes the user’s eyes and wrist to scroll through emails and other content.
The Galaxy S4 has dual camera function that allows users to take pictures using both rear and front cameras simultaneously. The rear has a 13 megapixel camera while the front camera captures pictures at 2 megapixels. The phone weights 130g and is 7.99mm thick.
