CPN-Maoist withdraws nationwide shutdown scheduled for September 25

The CPN-Maoist has announced that it has withdrawn the nationwide shutdown scheduled for September 25. The 33-party alliance led by the CPN-Maoist had called for a shutdown to demand resignation of the interim election government. The parties have also opposed the Constituent Assembly election scheduled for November 19.

The CPN-Maoist has announced that it decided to withdraw the shutdown after the Election Commission extended the deadline for political parties to nominate their candidates. The CPN-Maoist has not decided if it wants to participate in the election yet.

The CPN-Maoist wants the current government to be dissolved and a new government formed under the leadership of political parties. The party has also sought clarification from the government regarding the recent raid by the Indian police personnel inside the country.
