Election Commission to begin printing process for voter identity cards soon

The Election Commission (EC) has announced that it will soon begin printing process for voter identity cards. The EC is now in the final stage of finalizing names of companies that will begin the printing work.  The EC has received bids from six companies so far.

The EC plans to send 13 million voter identity cards across the country after the printing process is completed. The distribution process will end on November 15. The EC has scheduled the Constituent Assembly election for November 19.

The new voter identity cards will have photos and personal details of each voter. The EC has already set up election offices in all of the 240 constituencies. The government is planning to deploy 56,000 Nepal Police personnel, 22,000 Armed Police Force personnel and 61,000 Nepal Army personnel for security during the election.
